Each year we compile a list of some of the top incoming freshman, wrestlers to watch for that will make an impact on the high school level right away. This list is difficult because it does put the bigger kids at the disadvantage and the lighter kids at the advantage since your heavier kids will be wrestling mature seniors where your lighter kids will be facing more underclassman.

Last year's top 10 incoming freshman produced some great results on the high school level. Of the 10 wrestlers listed 7 of them won state titles and will be working towards collecting another 3 state titles. Two others on the list placed 5th & 2nd.  Not a bad group last year with 9 of 10 placing in state.

Another thing of note is that for the past ten years we have done this the #1 & #2 ranked wrestler has come out a state champion 8 of those 10 years.

This year's group is a very deep group of wrestlers and we are leaving off kids that could potentially win state as freshman. We expect big things from this group of freshman!

#1 Austin Paris

#2 Lander Bosh

School: Mountain Ridge

Projected weight: 106

Lander will be the favorite right out of the gate at 106 pounds in the 6A. His hard-nosed style of wrestling will propel him to much success over the coming years.

#3 Mason Carlson

School: Syracuse

Projected weight class: 120

Mason is coming into high school ready to make an immediate impact. Being in 6A will be a challenge but Mason has proved that he is ready for any challenge that comes his way.  He has had a lot of success on the national level so far and I expect his success to continue on the High School level.

#4 Tucker Roybal

School: Union

Projected weight: 150

Roybal is coming in at 150 pounds but has proven he will be able to compete with the best. Tucker won the Western States Greco-Roman Championships this summer as well as the 16U Freestyle and Greco Roman Utah State Championships.

#5 Rykan Hacking

School: Uintah

Projected weight class: 120

Uintah just keeps getting the hammers! Rykan will fit in to this already stacked team and help them continue to compete for the best in Utah.

#6 Gavin Regis

School: Syracuse

Projected weight class: 132

Syracuse is getting not just one top 10 but two wrestlers coming in this year that landed in the top 10. Gavin will add to an already solid Titan team and will make an immediate impact. Syracuse is a team to watch out for in the coming years!

#7 Kaizen DeToles

School: Westlake

Projected weight class: 150/157

Kaizen is coming in at the middle weights in 6A but he is tough and athletic and will make an impact right away for Westlake. Triple Crown winner at Western States and won both styles at West Regionals and runner up at Kids Nationals shows he can compete on the big stage.

#8 Ben Kohler

School: Wasatch

Projected weight: 126

Ben keeps improving and improving, he is going to be a good one for Wasatch! He is strong and will be able to step in as a freshman and compete right out of the gate.

#9 Hanks Jacobson

School: American Fork

Projected weight class: 113

Hanks has been around the sport a long time and is very competitive. Coming in at the lower weights will make it so he makes an impact right away for the Caveman.

#10 Kaleb Blackner

School: Roy

Projected weight: 106

Kaleb will look to be a top contender for Roy at 106 pounds next season. He will have stiff competition being in the 6A but Kaleb is a gamer and you can't count him out.
