American Fork High School

Jacob Rhoton has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for October 17th, 2016.

Jacob is a senior, wrestling 182 with American Fork High School.  As a Team Captain, he has been a great friend and mentor to his teammates.  He was the Super State Champion as an 8th grader as well as traveling with Team Utah to Indianapolis, Indiana for Nationals as a 14 year old.  He took 2nd at Region and 4th at the State Championships in February 2016 as a junior.   He is a 3 time varsity letter winner at his high school. One of his biggest strengths is his work ethic, both in the wrestling room and out.  Ever since he was a small boy, he learned to work hard and love it.  He never shy's away from a challenge.  He has always been known as kind and compassionate.  He loves and respects his coaches and considers them great mentors both as coaches, and as family men.

Jacob has worked for his father's landscaping company since he was a young boy.  He learned early, that you work until the job is done.  You never quit.  His dad always says he could outwork 10 men.  He has carried the things he has learned from working hard into every aspect of his life.  Everything he does he works hard at and has taken that approach as he has entered the wrestling world.  He has worked hard and set many goals to be the best he can be.

Jacob is an avid outdoors man and loves anything you can do outside.  Specifically, he loves hunting with his dad and brothers, snowmobiling in fresh powder, any sport to be played and wakeboarding at Lake Powell.  He has a love for life and loves to be with his family and friends.

Jacob is a young man with integrity.  He is known as a person who you can depend on and trust with anything.  He is always willing to serve and help anyone who needs it.  And he never complains when sometimes the days are hard and long and he is tired.  He is incredibly mentally tough.  Whatever Jacob puts his mind to, he will do.  No questions asked.
