Jakob Discher has been named "Athlete of the Week" for May 11th, 2016.

Jakob has been around wrestling his whole life and enjoys the commitment and hard work.  What he loves most about wrestling are his teammates.  This past year Jakob won his 1st 4A state title at 152.  He was a runner-up last year at 132 as a Sophomore, took 3rd as a Freshman at 113.  He has been a key part of the Wasatch High School team’s recent success as Wasatch has won the State Individual team title the past two years and won the inaugural State Dual Team Title this past season.  Jakob has committed his spring and summers training, going to camps, and competing on the national teams.  This past March, he won the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Denver, Colorado, and completed the Utah Triple Crown by winning both the Greco and Freestyle State Tournaments.  This summer he will be representing Utah at the USA Jr. National Duals in June and Jr. Nationals in July.
