Brykn Burnett has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for the week of April 14th, 2016

Brykn Burnett is a 4th grader at West Weber Elementary and is a proud member of Fremont Wrestling Club. He has been wrestling for three years and has grown so much during that time—both in his wrestling skill and also in his character. Brykn has an incredible sense of determination and true grit and is known for his “never give up” attitude. Some of the highlights of Brykn’s season include winning the Intermountain Warrior tournament in Pocatello, Idaho and placing 3rd at Utah Youth Super State.

Although Brykn is extremely passionate about wrestling, he is also an avid and talented cowboy. He competes in many youth rodeos across the state in breakaway roping and calf tying. He has been showing performance horses since he was six-years-old and can go from wrestling shoes and a singlet to cowboy hat and boots in a matter of minutes!

Brykn has many goals for his future. He has his sights set on Super State and Utah High School Championships as well as a college wrestling scholarship. His rodeo aspirations are just as admirable—his goal is to win a Utah State High School Rodeo title and eventually compete in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association at the National Finals Rodeo.

Brykn wants to extend his sincere appreciation for his phenomenal wrestling coaches and skilled practice partners. With the dedication and support of these people, coupled with Brykn’s work ethic and drive to succeed, he has had a very fun and successful year!
