Ryder Christensen has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for the week of March 30th, 2016

Ryder is a 4th grader at Midway Elementary, he is an outgoing funny boy, and he loves competing.  He recently won the Utah Youth Super State back in February and the Intermountain Warrior Challenge, and finished 6th at the Rocky Mountain Nationals. He has been wrestling for 3 years now and is passionate about getting better everyday by practicing hard when he goes to wrestling practice and drilling at home with his older brother.  Outside of wrestling Ryder enjoys school where he is the 4th grade student body president, he also enjoys acting, fishing, other sports, and just doing anything and everything he can experience.  His goal when he started the season was to win the triple crown and he is one third of the way there, and makes a daily effort to improve his skills to make that goal a reality.

He is fortunate to have great coaches and high school members at Wasatch who always push him at practice to work hard and teach him skills by example that he can use on and off the mat.  He loves the Utah wrestling family he has and his Wasatch teammates and other club kids he wrestles and that will travel up to practice with him.  He is excited for the spring season and looks forward to being a part of the Wasatch High School team and getting his name up on the board with the other great wrestlers that have multiple state titles.
