Easton Shelley has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for the week of March 20th, 2016

Easton is six years old and in first grade. He loves school, wrestling, baseball, soccer and playing basketball with his friends. He first started wrestling when he was four years old. He pretty much just went to practice and played around then but went because his older brother went. When he was five, he decided to follow in his brother’s footsteps and start going to tournaments and decided he loved it.

He has worked really hard this year. You can often find him working out in the garage or asking his dad and brother to work out with him. He’s the motivator because he’s excited to work out. He likes to keep track of how much he jump ropes, or how many push-ups or sit-ups he does. He has a great attitude and does this all on his own without ever complaining. He’s had a great year so far winning first at Rec League State, The Beehive Brawl, The Wild West Championships in Gillette, WY, and most recently the Rumble In Reno. He also placed sixth at the Tulsa Nationals in January.  His goal for the season is to win the Triple Crown trophy in Colorado in March.

He’s a quiet, humble little wrestler. He doesn’t show much emotion besides the smile he always has. He is a joy to watch because he is always smiling whether he wins or loses. People compliment him on his attitude at every tournament he wrestles in. He is proud of what he has done this year and he always says he’s not going to take second or third but he’s going to take first. He loves going to practice and tournaments so he can be with all of his friends and he seems to make friends wherever he goes.
