Korbon Tibbals has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for January 20th, 2016.
Korbon Tibbals is a senior at Maple Mountain High School, and has been wrestling for as long as his sisters can remember (10years). Korbon is an excellent student as well as a talented multi-sport athlete. He has been able to maintain a 3.9GPA while participating in 3 sports each year.
Korbon has been a member of the Schoolboy, Cadet, & Junior Utah National Teams, and has traveled throughout the country participating in multiple events in all 3 styles of wrestling. He has been a member of Maple Mountains Varsity Team since his Freshman year. He is a 3 time state qualifier placing 3rd in State last year as a Junior. He has a current record of 37-6 for this season with 26 pins. He won the Tournament of Champions in Vernal, and has placed 7th at both Reno and the Rockwell Rumble this year.
Korbon has also been a member of the Maple Mountain football, Soccer and Track teams. He was awarded the Outstanding Offensive Lineman for Maple Mountain this year, and has been selected for Academic all-state honors in wrestling for this year.
In his spare time Korbon enjoys being with friends and family, hanging out with his Grandpa Jensen on the farm, teasing his sisters and being outdoors. He loves to shoot and fish and is an excellent trap shooter. He plans to be an orthopedic surgeon after serving an LDS Mission.
