Kyle Larsen has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for September 18th, 2015.

Kyle Larsen came home from 1st grade waving a city league flyer and yelling, "I want to wrestle!" His dad took him into the front room, wrestled him to the ground and asked, "Do you still want to wrestle?" Trying to hold back the tears, Kyle answered his dad with a very determined, "Yes!"

Kyle started wrestling in city leagues and eventually followed his all time favorite coach, Bryan VanTassell, to Champions Wrestling. Kyle has had the opportunity to work with many great coaches and wrestlers.

Kyle has worked very hard to become a great wrestler. He took 1st at the Beehive Brawl his 8th grade year. He had the opportunity to travel to Virginia with Team Utah. Kyle has been able to go undefeated in several duals and tournaments with both CHampions adn Salem Hills High School. Kyle has placed in State every year that he has competed. Kyle took 2nd place his 6-9th grade years. Last season he was unable to finish the season due to a knee injury and surgery on the day of the state finals.

Kyle has been working hard with Coach Brindley his freshman and sophomore years, and in the off-seasons with Coach Lamont, and has been doing UVU preseason. Kyle is excited for a great 2015-2016 wrestling season, and hopes to be a very strong competitor this year.
