Wrestling officials, wrestling coaches and any Utah sports supporters,

On Thursday, September 17, 2015, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation will be holding its annual Hall of Fame Banquet, honoring five of Utah's outstanding athletes for their achievements.  Those being honored this year will also have a plaque of recognition added to the special display cases at the Energy Solutions Arena with the many other honorees.

Those being honored include:

Cael Sanderson (Wasatch High/Iowa State) wrestled to a four-year collegiate record of 159-0, winning four NCAA championships and an Olympic Gold medal.

Kelly Downs (Viewmont High) played major league baseball for eight years.

Ed Eyestone (Bonneville High/BYU) was an NCAA champion in track and cross country and competed in two Olympic marathons.

Scott Mitchell (Springville High/U of U) played 97 games in the NFL.

Wayne Estes (Utah State) died in 1965 the night he topped 2,000 points for his USU basketball career. He was named posthumously to All-American teams that year. He still is the #3 scorer in USU history.

Please review Cael Sanderson's invitation attachment below. It contains all the details you would need if you plan to support him or one of the other fine athletes by attending the banquet.

We are anticipating this to be one of our best attended HOF banquets, with hopefully over 800 attending.  If you are interested, please call Chuck Schell or Joel Gardner (information on the invitation) with any questions you might have.  You could also print out the invitation and use the bottom portion to order ticket(s). Please make sure you indicate which honoree you would be supporting on the order form.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this information.  Please contact me as well if you have any questions or concerns.
