Mt. Crest High School

Braydon Mogle has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for July 31st, 2015.

Braydon moved from Tooele to Wellsville about 2.5 years ago and will be entering his sophomore year at Mt. Crest High School. Braydon wrestled as a freshman this last high school season weighing 84lbs and wrestling in the 106lb weight class on the Mt. Crest JV team. This was one of Braydon’s toughest years wrestling where he lost as many matches as he won. But this last year also made Braydon a tougher and smarter wrestler having to make a lot of adjustments to try and stay competitive against the bigger wrestlers.  After the High School season Braydon wrestled the Freestyle and Greco season where he was able to finish that season by winning the 88lb Cadet Freestyle and Greco State championships.

Braydon recently returned from Fargo, ND were he traveled with the Utah team to wrestle at nationals. This was Braydon’s first year attending this event and came up just shy of placing in the top eight. He really enjoys being with his wrestling buddies and enjoys traveling with the Utah boys to compete in these national events. Braydon also won the Greco State tournament in 2014 and traveled with the Schoolboy team to Indiana which was also a great experience for him. Braydon would like to thank his coaches that have helped him out along the way (Gary Coffman, Tyson Linnell, Scott Smith, Nick Larsen, Justus and Davie Swensen, Dusty Lowe, Coach Burdett, Blair Powell and many others).

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups and one for the high school and above age group which will include high school, college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.
