Kyle Evans has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for May 27th, 2015.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high school and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

Kyle Evans is a Junior at Beaver High School and lives in Manderfield Utah.  He loves wrestling and started when he was in 1st grade with the Goshen youth wrestling program.  When Kyle moved to Kansas when he was in the 3rd grade he was part of the USA Wrestling Kansas Paola Wrestling Club.  Kyle started wrestling Freestyle and Greco Roman in the 6th grade and really enjoys spring and summer wrestling.  He was a Schoolboy Kansas State Champion in Freestyle and Greco Roman in 7th grade.  His family decided to move back to Utah when he was in the 8th grade.  That year Kyle won 1A,2A,3A Jr. High State Championship along with the Cadet Freestyle and Greco Championships.  As a Freshman Kyle was the 106 lbs 2A State High School Champion, he took 2nd at state his sophomore year and is the 132lb 2A state champion this past season.  Kyle has found a new love for Greco Roman wrestling and is the current 138lb state champion and he took 2nd in Freestyle this past April.  Kyle loves USA Utah wrestling especially the coaches and friends he has met that have helped him over the past few years.
     

Kyle is the second of six brothers and enjoys spending time with his mother that has to put up with all those boys at home.  Besides Wrestling Kyle is very active in the FFA and serves as the Beaver FFA chapter secretary.  He was the high individual in the state of Utah at the FFA Milk Quality and Products contest and was able to compete at the National FFA Convention in 2014 representing Utah.  He raises stock show lambs and pigs as well as breaks and trains horses each year as an FFA Project.
