Curtis Smith has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for May 13th, 2015.
Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high school and above age group which will include high school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.
Curtis Smith started wrestling in 8th grade. Despite his later start in the sport, he has had many accomplishments. He went undefeated his 9th grade year, and in the 5A Duals. He also won the divisional tournament. His Junior year he placed 5th in State at the 160 lb. weight in 5A. He took 1st at Greco State and 2nd in Freestyle in the Junior Division.
Curtis will be 1 of 3 team captains next year for Viewmont High School. When not wrestling, Curtis enjoys hunting, wrestling, football and wake boarding.
