Scott Robertson has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for April 1st, 2015.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

Scott Robertson is a 6th grader, the 5th child in a family of six children; four older sisters and one younger brother.  He lives in Tremonton and wrestles for Bear River & Top of Utah.  When he was told about the selection he was excited for the honor to represent his family and community responding that “I am thankful for my parents and family, and have lots of uncles and coaches who have helped me get to where I am at and for that I am thankful.”  Furthermore, he very much enjoys his teammates as he recognizes that they are the key to each other’s success.  They reciprocate mutual respect, loyalty and appreciation, living this year’s Team Motto “Confident Brotherhood.”

He has been wrestling competitively for 4 years.  This year in over 50 matches he has lost twice.  Both losses were to wrestlers from outside of the state of Utah (California & Washington).  Scott enjoys wrestling and is a fierce, yet relaxed competitor.  This is not exclusive to wrestling as he enjoys, soccer, football, skiing and his school studies, among other interests.

Scott is as kind hearted as anyone you will meet; always looking to entertain the younger kids and keep them happy.  He has learned that trait from his unique family experience, as he has one sibling in particular; who was born with hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and is confined to a wheel chair.  He frequently holds her even though she weighs more than 50lbs.

Scott is an avid Scouter and very active in his church.  As a leader’s assistant he hates to miss his troop meeting.  He has moved along quite well in his rank advancements since he turned eleven (14 months ago).  This past summer he with his younger brother & father hiked Mt. Whitney (highest peak in the lower 48 states-Sierra Nevadas), in excess of 43 miles in 4.5 days, with a full pack.
