OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University wrestling team will continue its Western Wrestling Conference dual slate against Air Force on Friday at 7 p.m. in the PE Building.

The contest will feature free live video via UVU's YouTube channel as well as live results through TrackWrestling.com.

The Wolverines (1-4, 0-1 WWC) will enter the contest off of a 29-3 setback to No. 18 Wyoming in their conference opener last weekend. The ranked Cowboys won the first nine matches of the contest. UVU junior 133-pounder Jade Rauser helped the Wolverines avoid the shutout, however, with a victory in the final bout of the evening.

Rauser recorded a clutch late takedown in the final period to score a 6-4 decision over Wyoming's Drew Templeman. With the victory, Rauser now leads UVU in wins with 15, as the two-time NCAA qualifier will enter Friday with a 15-5 record on the season.

Fellow junior Chasen Tolbert (125 pounds) is next for the Wolverines at 10-4, while senior Ethan Smith (184) and junior Ross Taylor (184) both sit at 10-8. Senior heavyweight Adam Fager, who has wrestled for UVU at the last two NCAA Championships, returned to the lineup for the first time since the opening-season tournament last weekend and fell by a mere point (4-3) to Wyoming's Tanner Harms.

Air Force (4-3, 0-1 WWC) will come to Orem off of a 1-1 outing in California last weekend. The Falcons began the trip with a 20-19 victory over Cal Poly and concluded it with a 27-8 loss to Stanford. AFA overcame a 19-10 deficit versus the Mustangs by winning the final three matches of the contest. The dual was capped by 125-pounder Josh Martinez winning his bout by major decision to seal the victory for the Falcons.

Martinez, who is currently ranked ninth nationally by InterMat, leads AFA with a 10-2 record while No. 18 Jesse Stafford is right behind him with a 12-4 clip at 165 pounds.

UVU and AFA will both be looking for their first conference victory of the season, as they each have fallen to the ranked Cowboys on the season. Wyoming handed the Falcons a 34-0 defeat a month ago.

Friday will mark the 12th all-time meeting between UVU and the Academy on the mat, and the Wolverines hold a slight 6-5 advantage. Utah Valley has also won four of the last six outings, including the last three in Orem.

Up Next for the Wolverines
UVU will conclude its month-long homestand by hosting a pair of Pac-12 foes next week. The Wolverines will welcome No. 20 Oregon State to town on Friday evening (Jan. 30) before taking on the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 31).
