Tristan Smith has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for November 5th, 2014.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

 Tristan Smith is eleven years old, a current sixth grader at North Summit Middle school. He prides himself with being an honor roll student. He has the same tenacity for school work as for wrestling.

 In the 2013-2014 season Tristan is the sixty pound novice State Triple Crown Champion. Triple Crown Western Regionals Champion, he was also awarded OW. Second place USA Kids Nationals Greco, Freestyle USA Kids Nationals Champion. Tristan's short term goal is to do well at the Virginia Duels with the Utah Elementary team. Long term goal is to continue to grow and remain a challenging opponent when he walks out in his college Penn State singlet.

  He is the oldest son and third out of five children. He enjoys growing up in the country. He spends his off time riding his pony "Phil", his four-wheeler in the sand dunes, raising a hog for his summer 4-H project. He has four dogs, a cat, turtle, snake, pigs,and ponies. The rest of his time is spent catching frogs, camping, hunting and fishing.
