285 POUND PRESEASON RANKINGS

Our top wrestler in the 285 pound rankings this year is from Lehi, Brackin Stringam. Brackin placed 2nd in state and placed at the prestigious Reno Tournament of Champions as well as came 3rd at The Rumble. Brackin will be challenged this year but will start out as the top heavyweight. Ranked #2 is Kenneth Ross from Union. Kenneth is a state runner-up in the 3A division and has a win over Payson's Brian Hoschouer.

Payson's Brian Hoschouer comes in at #3. Hoschouer will have to get passed #2 ranked Ross to win that state title his senior year, Brian placed 3rd last year and will not be happy with anything less than a state title this year. #4 is Dalton Mortensen from Granger. Dalton will have a tough Stringam to defeat to win a state title, Dalton placed 3rd last year at state and has a few wins over Bountiful's Freestone.

Ranked #5 is Lee Freestone from Bountiful. Lee is the top heavyweight in the 4A and placed 3rd last year so he will have his eyes set on a state title this year. Moving up from 220 pounds will be Spanish Fork's John Leilua and he takes the #6 spot. Leilua placed 7th at The Rumble and will look to make noise in the heavyweight division this year.

Pleasant Grove's Demetriu Davis holds down the #7 spot and after a 2-2 finish at state in the 5A last year he will look to get on the podium in 2015. #8 goes to Damian Trujillo from Roy. Damian placed 4th at state last year.

Ben Bos from Wasatch will start at #9 and I expect he could move up the rankings quickly. At the heavyweight division Bos could be very dangerous and could make some serious noise here. Our last spot, #10, goes to Taylorsville Justice Hayes. Justice went only 1-2 at state but had some close loses and some quality wins throughout the year.
