220 POUND PRESEASON RANKINGS

State Champion and returning 4th place finisher at The Rumble, Tyler Stevenson from Desert Hills is ranked #1 to start the season. Tyler has proven himself as the wrestler to beat at 220lbs. Ranked #2 is Andrew Anderson from Mt. Crest. Andrew placed 5th at state in the 4A and is considered the top guy in the 4A this year.

Simeon Page from Riverton is our top 5A wrestler and ranked #3 overall. Simeon placed 4th at state and defeated Jordan Crofts last year. #4 ranked goes to state runner-up from Skyline, Jordan Crofts. Jordan is only a Junior this year and will look to be a 3x state finalist when his career is over.

Davis's Connor Taylor starts at #5. With Koelling going 195 most certainly Taylor will bump up to 220lbs. Taylor placed 6th in state and 8th at The Rumble. #6 goes to 1A's Rowdy Josie from Panguitch. Rowdy is a returning state champion and All-Star member. Rowdy went 46-3 last year and will look to be a contender for a top 5 finish at 220 pounds in the overall rankings.

#7 goes to Newman from Herriman. Newman did not place at state going 1-2 but did have wins over Mayo and Weddell during the year. Brayden Mayo is our #8 ranked wrestler from Pleasant Grove. Mayo went 2-2 at state but will most certainly find a way on the podium this year.

Weddell from Jordan is ranked #9. Weddell had a win over Sakurada and went 1-2 at state. There are plenty of 5A wrestlers ranked in our top 10 which will make for a good state tournament. Roy's Sakurada comes in at #10. Sakurada went 2-2 at state this past year and placed 6th at the Layton Tournament and 3rd at the Viewmont Tournament.
