195 POUND PRESEASON RANKINGS

The rankings for 195lbs start with All-American Wyatt Koelling at #1. Wyatt had a phenomenal off season placing 2nd at both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota. Wyatt will enter his junior year as one of the premier wrestlers in the state. Ranked #2 is Cody Stevenson from Desert Hills. Cody is the returning 3A state champion and placed 5th at The Rumble. If anyone is going to push Koelling at this weight it will be Cody.

Heber Shepherd from Spanish Fork is ranked #3 after a runner-up finish at 182 pounds last year. Heber lost a tough 4-3 battle with Micah Gill in the state finals and looks like he will move up to 195lbs this year. Our #4 ranked wrestler is Aaron Dick of Uintah. Aaron placed 3rd in state last year in the 3A and will look to battle Stevenson for the top spot this year.

Herriman's Wade French starts out at #5. Wade didn't place at state last year but did place 7th at The Rumble. Placing 7th at The Rumble is no small task and because of that he gets the nod at #5. #6 goes to Quigley Whitaker of Millard. Whitaker is a state champion in the 2a but did not place at The Rumble. He is the favorite to repeat in the 2A and make it two in a row.

#7 goes to Brandon Closson of Pleasant Grove. Brandon was a freshman last year and didn't place in state but expect big improvements this year and for Brandon to move into the ranks of top talent at 195lbs. Timpview gets their first wrestler in the top 10 with Nate Richardson. Nate placed 6th at state last year and being in the 4a division could give him a great chance to make the finals and possibly win it this year.

Mt. View's Jeffrey Kindrick is ranked #9 as he had wins over McNaughton, Simeon Page and Jordan Crofts last year. He didn't fair too well at state but those wins give him the #9 spot. Our final spot, #10, goes to Delta's David Schena. David placed 2nd in state behind Whitaker but placed 8th at the Viewmont which had him slip down a little. Schena and Whitaker could again battle it out for that top spot come February.
