152 POUND PRESEASON RANKINGS

Payson senior Riley Loveless comes in #1 in the 152 pound rankings. Riley has grown this off season and looks to dominate his new weight class. As a sophomore Riley won the 3A state title and finished as runner-up this past year as a junior. I don't think there is any question Riley will be one of the top wrestlers in the state of Utah this year.

#2 goes to Preston Stephenson of Wayne. Preston impressed last year going 58-2 and placing 7th at The Rumble. With wins over Taylor Johnson and Danny Green plus a Utah All-Star victory the number 2 spot is well deserved for the 1A senior. Mitch Egbert of Mountain Crest gets the nod at #3 with a 3rd place finish and a win over Greg Lamb the Mountain Crest senior looks to take the top spot in the 4A this year.

Taylor Johnson of Jordan High School takes the #4 spot after placing 8th at The Rumble and 4th at state. Taylor got better as the season went on and will look to continue improving to be 5A's top wrestlers. Cameron Killian will start the season ranked #5. The potential for Killian to be higher on this list is great but injuries have been his set back so far. If he can stay injury free I expect him to be competing for a state title this year.

Uintah's Cody Merkley is ranked #6, Cody placed 5th at state last year and had some impressive wins during the season. Cody had wins over Dalton Rice, Joey Day, Caden Kirkland, & Mitch Egbert. #7 goes to Kaden Sperry of Pleasant Grove. Kaden placed 5th at state. Kaden didn't have the most impressive year but finished by placing 5th at state where it counts and being in a tough Pleasant Grove room we expect him to have a solid year.

Danny Green from Westlake gets the #8 ranking. Danny stumbled at state not placing but with off season wins over 3A's 4th place finisher, Kolton Lynn and freshman standout DJ Cohen expectations are high for his senior year. Danny has had a good off season but to remain in the rankings he will have to come out firing to prove he belongs in the top 10. Freshman DJ Cohen gets the #9 ranking. Cohen, even though just a freshman, beat multiple state placers this off season and showed he will make an immediate impact in the 4A.

Our #10 spot goes to Juab's Kolton Lynn. Kolton placed 4th at state last year and will have a big task in getting on top of the podium at state with Loveless in his way but Lynn will look to make Juab a solid top tier team in the 3A.
