Mason Christiansen

Mason Christiansen has been named "Athlete of the Week" for May 14th, 2014.

~~Each week, will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

Mason is the second of five kids in his family. He has two sisters that play accelerated softball and two little brothers that also Wrestle. Mason is a sixth grader at Midas Creek Elementary in Riverton where he has earned perfect grades year after year. A typical day for Mason includes Two workouts, waking himself up at 6:30am for a strength workout and Wrestling practice in the evenings. Add in school, homework, chores and a job mowing his Dad and Grandpa's lawn and somehow he manages to make time to hang out with friends. Mason is a great influence on his two little brothers, he often puts them through Wrestling practices in the living room and challenges them to pushup and situp competitions. This work has paid off for his younger brother Brayden who just won his first freestyle and Greco state championships this last weekend. A few of Mason's Wrestling accomplishments include multiple state championships in all three styles. 4X Utah Super State champion. A USA Wrestling freestyle National Champion Greco silver Medal Freestyle silver Medal and several other all american finishes. Mason Recently won his most exciting state championship last weekend in Freestyle, coming back from an early 8 point deficite to narrowly beat an outstanding Wrestler. This win helped him accomplish one of his goals to make the Schoolboy national team and represent Utah against some of the best 13 and 14 year old Wrestlers in the country. Mason also loves Football and is a standout linebacker and tailback for his team.
