OREM, Utah - Just days after having his 2014 recruiting class ranked 22nd nationally, Utah Valley University head wrestling coach Greg Williams announced on Friday that he has signed five more incoming wrestlers during the spring signing period.

The five new National Letter of Intent signees are Dalton Harmon (Juab High School, Utah),Matthew Ontiveros (Central H.S., California), Will Sumner (Nevada Union H.S., California), Michael Suwyn (Mountain Ridge H.S., Arizona) and Logan Blackwood (Centennial H.S., Idaho).

"We are very excited about this year's recruiting class," Williams said. "These young men, along with the two great recruits we signed in the fall, are excellent student-athletes and all possess the attitude, character and work ethic that we expect from the members of the UVU wrestling program. We feel these young men will help us continue to move forward with our program."

Harmon is the lone wrestler of the group from the state of Utah and was a three-time state placer and a one-time state champion during his career at Juab High. The Nephi, Utah, native will wrestle at 165 or 174 pounds for the Wolverines.

Of the out of state group, Suwyn highlights the faction as he was a two-time state finalist and a one-time state champion at Mountain Ridge H.S. in Arizona. Suwyn will wrestle at 157 pounds at UVU.

Ontiveros, who hails from California, was a two-time state placer during his time at Central H.S. Ontiveros will wrestle at 141 pounds for the Wolverines while his fellow Californian newcomer Sumner will compete for UVU at 174 or 184 pounds. The Idaho native Blackwood will wrestle for Utah Valley at 197 pounds.

Earlier in the week, InterMat released its 2014 recruiting class rankings and UVU came in at 22nd on the poll. Joining Williams' five new recruits are fall signees Roy Nash (Taylorsville H.S., Utah) and Kimball Bastian (Maple Mountain H.S., Utah). Nash is currently the top-ranked 220-pound wrestler in the nation, while Bastian comes in at eighth nationally in the 170-pound weight class.

"The ranking is one indication that Wolverine wrestling is a solid, recognizable Division I wrestling program," added Williams. "For us to sign two top 50 wrestlers in the country (regardless of weight) is a big step in the right direction for us. You add this class to the great standouts we signed last year and it looks very promising for our program to continue to get closer to achieving our highest goals."
