OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University head wrestling coach Greg Williams is pleased to announce the signing of Roy Nash from Taylorsville, Utah. The senior at Taylorsville High School, will wrestle heavyweight for the Wolverines.

"We are excited to have Roy as part of our burgeoning program. We feel that with his work ethic in the classroom and on the mat, he is a great fit for the Wolverine family," Williams stated. "He is part of the growing tradition that UVU will build on with top Utah wrestlers."

Nash is currently ranked second in the nation at 220-pounds on the InterMat poll and was named Win Magazine's Wrestler of the Year for the state of Utah after his junior season at Taylorsville HS last year. He was the only State Champion in all of Utah to go undefeated last season (41-0). For his stellar campaign in 2012-13, he was recently named the Junior of the Year by USA Wrestling Utah.

The incoming heavyweight grappler is a two-time double National Champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman as he won both titles as a Cadet in 2012 and again at Juniors in 2013. Nash was named the Outstanding Greco Wrestler of the Country this past season after winning the Cadet World Trials and making the World Cadet Greco Team.

Nash, who holds a perfect 4.0 GPA at Taylorsville HS, is considered to be the top prospect in the state of Utah this year.

Nash is planning on going on an LDS mission right after he graduates from high school this upcoming summer and will join the Wolverines in time for the 2016-17 season.
