This week is BIG! Utah is boasting one of its best Junior squads it's had in years as they ready themselves to "send it" with Coach Henry and Coach Hochstrasser in Milwaukee.

And, there's HUGE news out of Milwaukee—Team Utah’s Junior boys are the No. 1 seed heading into the Greco-Roman portion of the Junior National Duals. That’s right—our boys are the top dogs in a field loaded with national powerhouse states like Illinois, Ohio, and Minnesota.

This is a huge statement about how amazing this group is and how far they all have come as these young men have grown up together, often competing against one another, and teaming up throughout the years in their efforts to grow. We’ve had strong individuals in the past, but I cannot think of a time we've had this kind of top-to-bottom firepower. Now we’re leading the bracket, and it’s because we’ve got one of the deepest, most talented lineups Utah has ever put together.

Star Power Across the Board

UVU sits strong at the heart of this team with commits Geronimo Rivera (multi-time All-American who brings leadership, experience, and clutch performance), and alongside him is Jason Worthley, another future Wolverine who consistently finds himself as one of the top wrestlers in the country. Jason is one of our Western Regional champs who’s as gritty as they come. These two UVU boys know how to win!

Then you’ve got a wave of hammers like these and more:

  • Tanner Telford who brings a lot of balance in his style, and isn't afraid to send it. Tanner hustles in his matches, he's slick.....and always offensive. He brings a grind to the team that demonstrates the tenacity that Utah hosts as a whole.

  • Lander Bosh, a recent national champ, who is as polished as they come. He carries a high ability to counter attack, and he wrestles with a ton of heart. Being in a high caliber bracket is a norm for him, and finding his way to the top is exactly who Lander is.

  • Kaleb Blackner who is a lightning fast thrower and battle-tested. He's heavily precise on his technique, and can rack up points in a hurry as he never backs down from making his own opportunities.

  • Austin Paris, three-time state champ and national champ. This guy is all gas, no brakes. He commonly overwhelms his opponents, and I'd plan on seeing him do more of that this week. Austin likes stepping up in big moments, and we can't wait to see his swagger on the mat!

  • Tucker Roybal, always a very dangerous opponent and highly known for his ability to throw. Tucker shows a "never say die" attitude to his matches. Look for his matches to drive energy into the team.

  • Ladd Holman, only a sophomore, already owns two state titles and a Fargo medal. Ladd just recorded an absurdly dominant 49-0 season for Juab last season. Expect big things from Ladd as he continues to learn and put himself to the test.

  • Leimana Fager, three-time champ and Folkstyle national champ, is a serious hammer. He takes absolute control in his matches, and he's very patient. Mana is one of the many dominant Fager wrestlers coming out of Utah. Wrestling has become the family business, and he doesn't disappoint as he is leading the new generation for them.

  • Travyn Boger, a Pan-Am double gold medalist at heavyweight, brings international experience and quiet dominance. Travyn is everyone's hero, and an easy kid to root for. He's the real deal on the mat, and extremely agile. High pressure matches are something this guy is more than familiar with.

This Team Is Built to Win

What makes this group special isn’t just the talent—it’s how they have grown together. They’ve trained, competed, and battled together since their younger youth wrestling days. And now they’ve earned the top seed at one of the toughest Greco-Roman events in the country.

For anyone who’s followed Utah wrestling, this is a moment of pride. For those just tuning in—now is the time to pay attention. These boys are going to make some serious noise.

Let’s rally behind them as they chase a national title. Greco-Roman kicks off RIGHT NOW! Get loud, Utah.
