Junior College Women's Nationals took place in Council Bluffs, IA March 1st-2nd.
Utah's very own Snow College had a great showing ending up with 7 women on the podium. Placing 6th overall as a team out of 18 teams is not a bad way to finish out their second season as a program.
The Snow College Women NJCAA National Placers:
Corrie Williams (Enterprise) Champion at 136lbs
Abigail Trayhorn (Bear River) 2nd Place 143lbs
Angella Van Valkenburg (Bingham) 5th Place 155lbs
Jennifer Thomas (Tooele) 5th Place 101lbs
Rachel Jones (Northridge) 5th Place 109lbs
Valentina Martinez (Davis) 5th Place 123lbs
Hannah Broderick (Grantsville) 6th Place 170lbs
Corrie Williams has given Snow College their first National Champion under the direction of Head Coach Ross Taylor and Supporting Coach George Chappell. As the team grows, so does their talent. We are excited about the progress and success Snow College is making in their women's wrestling and look forward to seeing this continue.
Another notable Utah placer at NJCAA Nationals:
Karla Padilla-Zepeda (Northridge) 2nd Place at 235lbs (Indian Hills)
There will be more Utah women competing in the NCWWC Nationals this coming weekend March 8-9. Follow along on Flowrestling!
