Westlake High School Girl's Wrestling Team Preview

The Westlake Thunder girls wrestling team is looking to build on their success from last season, when they finished as the state champions. The team returns several key wrestlers, including state champions Celeste Detoles (135 pounds) and Keilikki Nau Rarick (235 pounds).

Detoles is a senior who is looking to defend her title in 2023. She is a dominant wrestler who is always a contender for the title. Rarick is a junior who is also looking to defend her title. She is a powerful wrestler who is always improving.

In addition to Detoles and Rarick, the Thunder also have several other wrestlers who are capable of placing at state. These wrestlers include:

  • Ameris Jensen (130 pounds): Jensen is a junior who placed 3rd in state last year.
  • Ryanna Toki (140 pounds): Toki is a junior who is a state qualifier.
  • Muryha Summers (145 pounds): Summers is a junior who is a state qualifier.
  • O'dessa Laititi (190 pounds): Laititi is a senior who placed 3rd in state last year.

The Thunder are under the direction of head coach Cody Burdett. Burdett is a passionate coach who is dedicated to helping his wrestlers succeed.

The Thunder are looking to build on their success from last season and defend their state championship title yet again in 2023. They are looking for 4 straight state titles as a team.
