The Mountain View High School girls wrestling team is coming off a successful 2022-2023 season, in which they placed 5th overall in the UHSAA 5A team wrestling state competition. The team is led by head coach Hank Weiss, who is entering his first season with the program.

The team returns a few key wrestlers from last year's team, including:

  • Isla Baeza: A state champion at 130 pounds, Baeza is a hard-nosed wrestler who is always up for a challenge. She is a 3x state placer.
  • Makenzi McCoy: A state runner up at 115 pounds, McCoy is a dedicated and tough young wrestler with big goals for herself.

The Mountain View High School girls wrestling team is a young and up-and-coming program, and they are expected to be a tough team now in the 4A classification this year.

Here are some of the team's goals for the upcoming season:

  • Send more wrestlers to the state tournament.
  • Continue to grow the girls wrestling program at Mountain View High School.
