USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIP CARD

USA Wrestling Membership cards are more than just a ticket into the wrestling tournament at the high school down the street. With a USAW Card, your wrestler has now opened doors to all USAW sanctioned events including practices, camps, clinics, tournaments, events, and international tours.  

USA Wrestling is the National Governing Body for the Sport of Wrestling in the United States and, as such, is its representative to the United States Olympic Committee. USAW is the central organization for wrestling with goals of growing the sport through support of our athletes, coaches, and officials and fostering interest in this great sport for all. 

The focus is on opportunities for youth and adults to gain appreciation and understanding of international styles of wrestling; Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Folkstyle (the style practiced in high school and colleges in the United States). They accomplish this through their thousands of charter clubs across the nation. 

USA Wrestling has more than 290,000 members. These members include athletes of all ages, coaches, officials, parents and fans striving together to strengthen the sport. Part of USA Wrestling's mission is to foster grassroots development for the sport. Each year, USA Wrestling charters over 4400 wrestling clubs and sanctions over 2100 local, state, regional and national competitions. These opportunities and more are just a small part of the world of USA Wrestling. 

There are many benefits awarded to members of the World-leading USA Wrestling Family:

1. Participation in Local, Regional, and National Competitions like Beehive Brawl, Fargo Nationals, Age Group Duals, Camps and Practices run by Geneva Gray (Utah Women's National Team Coach) & Dwayne Henry (Utah Men's National Team Coach), or any senior level athletes that come to help Utah wrestling grow. 
2. Four levels of Coaches Certification. Not only to educate yourselves, but to aid in the growth of your wrestlers on every level they may achieve. Coaching levels-Copper, Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels.
3. The opportunity to travel abroad with Developmental Tours for Cadet, Junior, Women, University and Senior level athletes. These trips will open international experience on the mat for your wrestlers giving them exposure to new cultures, styles of wrestling, coaches, and new levels of wrestling. 
4. Educational videos and written materials presented by top coaches and wrestlers.
5. Regional and National Training and Developmental Camps for Youth through Senior-level athletes. Opportunities to learn from top athletes and coaches as well as train with the best in the nation. 
6. Free subscription to USA Wrestling’s newsletter, which is sent electronically bi-weekly
7. The membership is for the protection of all involved and serves as a secondary insurance to all with the membership.
8. Secondary, non-duplicating sports accident insurance provided by an outside carrier. There is sports-accident supplemental benefits provided to USA Wrestling members who participate in limited non-sanctioned events. This insurance coverage includes a deductible, co-payment provisions and other conditions of the policy (details will be provided to club administrators); coverage includes practice, participation and even some travel

The USA Membership Card is valid September 1st-August 31st and must be renewed yearly.  The new membership year opens on August 21, 2023, so don't wait to get your card. There are three different types of USAW Membership cards that can be purchased through USA Wrestling for the state of Utah.

• The Limited Folkstyle Athlete Membership $20-covers the athlete for Folkstyle club, practices and local tournaments inside the UTAH only. For Regional and National events a Full Athlete Membership is needed.
• The Full Athlete Membership $55- (RECOMMENDED) covers the athlete for all USA Sanctioned events, camps, clubs, and clinics domestic and international in all styles (Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Folkstyle).
• The High Performance Athlete Membership $120- all the benefits of the Full Athlete Membership with a special gear package and Senior World Team posters.
