Jarett Jorgenson is the unquestionable #1 wrestler at 126.  He ends his storied career as a 3X State Champion and next in a long line of Morgan Super Stars.  Following the  Trojan is Rumble 3rd Place winner and 3X State Champion from Westlake Jacob Finlinson.  Drew Lang  slots in as #3.  Lang had some solid wins at 132 before injury interrupted his season and he moved down to 126.

Brady Merkley is now a 2X Champion and the #4 wrestler in the State at 126.  The Ute will be back and ready to climb higher.  Layne Sheperd takes the #5 spot and a 5A title over #7 and teammate Wyatt Hone.  3A Runner up Lukas Carillo slides in between the Payson Lions and will look to get back atop the podium for ALA next year.  Millard Sophomore Mack Bray and 2A champ is #8 followed by Maverick Caldwell.  If you missed it, the Delta Rabbit injured his shoulder in the Semis and wrestled his way back to 3rd in 3A in heroic fashion with one arm. Impressive show of willpower.  Rounding out the top 10 is Woods Cross' Colton Erickson who placed 3rd in 5A.

160

1. Jeremy Evans (Sr) Viewmont

2. John Whitaker (Sr) Millard

3. Kam Moss (Jr) Corner Canyon

4. Maverik Skinner (Sr) Bear River

5. Clayton Warr (Sr) Hurricane

6. Canyon Brann (Sr) Layton

7. Cort Raddon (Sr) Beaver

8. Rhett Gebert (Sr) Ridgeline

9. Will Harmon (Fr) Juab

10. Tytan Smith (Sr) Syracuse

At the top of this list, Jeremy Evans is clearly Utah’s elite. His pace, technique and pressure are unmatched.  He pins them all in the first round, usually with a Cross Face Cradle.  If you haven’t seen how good Jeremy has gotten, you should find an opportunity.  Hopefully, we get to see him at the next level close to home Hint! Hint!  Where Evans is #1, John Whitaker is just as clearly #2.  The Millard Eagle won his second title this year and his 4th place finish at the Rumble is the 2nd best in Utah.  Kam Moss won 6A, and hold down the #3 slot as a result.  As a Junior, Kam will have a chance for #2 next season in Charger Blue.

The 4A finalists round out the top 5, as Skinner of Bear River and Warr of Hurricane graduate, it will be interesting to see if they find a home in a college room.  Canyon Brann finishes his career in a Lancer singlet #6 in the PowerPoll and clearly his leadership helped a resurgent Layton team.  2A finalist Cort Raddon holds down the #7 slot for the Beaver Beavers.  Rhett Gebert finished 3rd in the 4A. Congratulations to the Ridgeline Riverhawk had a great year.

Will Harmon is one of the stories of 2020.  The Juab Freshman won a title at 160lbs in the 3A.  It is often expected that Freshmen will win titles here and there, but at 160, amongst the grown men, it is truly rare.  Can he be consistent enough to win 3 more?  It’d be a good bet to lay down.  Tytan Smith rounds out the top 10.  The Syracuse senior ends his career with a top 3 finish.
