Here is some interesting All-Star Dual Trivia:

East, Farmington, Mountain Ridge, Skyridge, Timpview and Monument Valley will have their first ever all-star dual participants.  East's Sau Tafisi (220 pounds), Farmington's Austin Gillette, Mountain Ridge's Kyison Garcia (106), Skyridge's Hadley Cowan (138), Timpview's Cael Richardson (220) and Monument Valley's Tanner Tsingine (160) are making history for their programs.  Richardson did have an older brother (Creed) compete in the all-star dual but he wrestled for Provo as Timpview didn't have a program at that time.  And Tsingine is actually one of two 1A wrestlers in the event this year with Daniel Ayala of Wayne High School.

River Wardle (Wasatch) and Joseph Mecham (Grantsville) have represented two different schools in the all-star dual. Wardle wrestled in the 2018 all-star dual for Herriman while Mecham competed for Tooele last year.

Juab will have seven participants in this year's all-star dual.

Tyson Humpherys (Layton) and Stockton O'Brien (Wasatch) are making their fourth straight all-star dual performances and both are going for their fourth state titles.   4-time participants Jarett Jorgensen (Morgan) and Mason Denton (Fremont) are going for their third state title and second state titles respectively.

If you follow the team thing at all, the wildcard team has placed second in four of the last six years.  5A won last year but the winning team has spread around a bit.  However, the 2A team has never won the all-star dual since the event went to the three-mat and four or six team formats.  Will this be the year?

But in 2014 there was a complete 1A team and they WON the event.  The 1A team won eight of its 14 matches with names you might recognize like Foy, Musselman, Eldredge, Stephenson and Wilcox.

The coaches are getting younger and younger but I do remember Jeb Clark wrestling in this event for Spanish Fork.  Of course, he's changed colors now and it's all about green.
