The 2019-2020 High School wrestling season is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. We couldn't wait any longer to dive in and start taking a look at each weight class and what we can expect  for this upcoming season.  These lists are only guesses and good reading so let us know where we might have missed someone and we will do our best to make adjustments and post updates as they happen.

195 pounds

  1. Ryker Blackburn (Sr.) Duchesne - 2019 State Champion (2A)
  2. Cash Robb (Jr.) Altamont - 2019 State Champion (2A)
  3. Jake Jackson (Sr.) Delta - 2019 State Champion (3A)
  4. Blake Mangelson (Sr.) Juab - 2019 State Runner up (3A)
  5. Jake Anderson (Sr.) Farmington - 2019 State 3rd place (5A)
  6. Jacob Walker (Sr.) Skyline - 2019 State 3rd place (5A)
  7. Hunter Schroeder (Sr.) Mt. Crest - 2019 State 3rd place (4A)
  8. Gavin Carter (Sr.) Canyon View - 2019 State Runner up (4A)

The first four wrestlers ranked at this weight are either 2A or 3A which should make for some great state finals matches. The number five and six wrestlers are both 5A with 4A having the number 7 and 8 wrestlers. Duchesne's Ryker Blackburn takes our top spot, returning state champion had a solid off season wrestling for Team Utah winning all 3 styles at the Western States Championships and going undefeated at the Turf War Duals. Ryker placed 5th at the Rumble at 182 and now up at 195 he looks to be the top wrestler in the state. Cash Robb, our only Junior in the rankings takes the #2 spot. Cash edges out a tough Jake Jackson for this spot as Jake comes in at #3. Cash was at 195lbs last year with Jake coming up from 170/182.  Cash placed 3rd at the Rumble and had a very solid season. Jackson had some solid wins last year including wins over Zack Johnson, Charles Watts, Brayden Guthrie and Cannon Carlson. He lost to Bryson Barnes who we currently have ranked at 170 but have recently been told could be at 182 or 195 this year so if he is at 195 that could definitely change the landscape at 195lbs.

The number 4 is Blake Mangelson from Juab.  Mangelson is our 5th Juab wrestler in the state rankings. Blake was at 195 last year but him and Robb never met up. #5 we have Jacob Walker from Skyline who is our top wrestler in the 5A and #6  Jake Anderson from Farmington. Jacob defeated Anderson at the HS Christmas Clash Invite last year but both had solid seasons. Anderson had a win over our #7 Hunter Schroeder from Mt. Crest. Schroeder placed 3rd at state and is the top guy in 4A. He also had a win over Walker at the Rumble. Our #8 wrestler is from Canyon View, Gavin Carter. Gavin placed 2nd at state at 182lbs.

Overall 195 pounds isn't a very deep weight and many spots are up for grabs. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few new faces from other weights end up at 195 especially from  the 6A where they look a little thin at 195lbs.
