The 2019-2020 High School wrestling season is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. We couldn't wait any longer to dive in and start taking a look at each weight class and what we can expect  for this upcoming season.  These lists are only guesses and good reading so let us know where we might have missed someone and we will do our best to make adjustments and post updates as they happen.

152 pounds

  1. Stockton O'brien (Sr.) Wasatch - 2019 State Champion
  2. Clayton Warr (Sr.) Hurricane - 2019 State 4th
  3. Jaxon Wardle (Sr.) Bingham - 2019 State 5th
  4. Brock Edwards (Sr.) Beaver - 2019 State Runner up
  5. Dean Thompson (Sr.) Altamont - 2019 State Runner up
  6. Trent Taylor (Sr.) Westlake - 2019 State 4th
  7. Camron Eden (Jr.) Syracuse - 2019 State 6th
  8. Rylan Stevens (Jr.) Mountain Ridge - 2019 State 5th

Stockton O'brien owns this weight class and I don't see anyone touching him in state. I would assume O'brien will drop to 145 pounds for tournaments such as Reno but for Wasatch to fill in all their weights I see him at least starting at 152. After Stockton at #1 I have a feeling we will see a bunch of moving around throughout the season. We have Clayton Warr at #2 and Jaxon Wardle at #3. Warr beat Wardle and Dean Thompson last year which puts him above Wardle. Wardle had the most quality wins of the whole bunch with wins over Stange, Ryan Larsen, Trent Taylor, Dean Thompson, Brock Loveless, Eden, & Jordan Davies so due to his quality of wins along with his Rumble placing we give him the nod at #3 over Brock Edwards at #4.  Brock took some losses last year but got redemption when he beat Sheets for the first time during the season at state.

Dean Thompson comes in at #5 and will be tough as a senior. Dean also had some good wins but too many losses to those above him keep him at #5. Trent Taylor #6 from Westlake came on last season as a Junior and placed 4th at state. #7 is Camron Eden from Syracuse. Syracuse is putting together a very solid team and should compete for a state title in 6A this year and Eden will be a very important part to the team title for Syracuse. Rounding out the top 8 is Rylan Stevens from Mountain Ridge. Rylan will now be a Junior and I expect to see a jump from him which is why he gets in the rankings. He had a solid season placing 5th at state last year.
