The 2019-2020 High School wrestling season is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. We couldn't wait any longer to dive in and start taking a look at each weight class and what we can expect  for this upcoming season.  These lists are only guesses and good reading so let us know where we might have missed someone and we will do our best to make adjustments and post updates as they happen.

132lbs

  1. Mason Denton (Sr.) Fremont - 2019 State Champion
  2. Drew Lang (So.) West - 2019 State Champion
  3. Channing Warner (So.) Juab - 2019 State Champion
  4. Jarett Jorgensen (Sr.) Morgan - 2019 State Runner up
  5. Brian Evans (Jr.) Beaver - 2019 State Champion
  6. Jacob Finlinson (Jr.) Westlake - 2019 State Champion
  7. Wyatt Hone (Sr.) Payson - 2019 State Runner up
  8. Deklan Kelly (Sr.) Wasatch - 2019 State Runner up

This weight is stacked from top to bottom!! Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part that each of these wrestlers will be at this weight but I do think 132 could end up being a very fun weight. Some of these wrestlers may end up at 126 which will thin out the weight a little but this weight is deep even past the top 8 with kids such as Gage Ogden, Layne Shepherd, Noah Roylance, Declan Morris, Karson Rees and Isaac Richards, all of which could end up at 132 as well.

Mason Denton and Drew Lang take the top 2 spots, both state champions and both very capable of being some of the best overall wrestlers in the state. #1 Denton, #2 Lang and #6 Finlinson are all 6A with Lang and Finlinson both shooting to become 4xers.  This could be a fun battle between the two with Denton trying to stop both from their quest. The question is, as always with preseason previews, do we have their weights correct or will one or more be down at 126 or up at 138?

Channing Warner and Jorgensen take the #3 and #4 spots. Last year Warner pulled the upset over Jorgensen ending Jorgensen's quest to become a 4xer and starting his own journey to 4 state titles. Will Jorgensen get revenge this time and put a stop to Warner's quest to become a 4xer just like Warner stopped Jorgensen's run or will Warner prevail again and continue on towards the goal of a 4xer?

Brian Evans comes in at #5 with Finlinson at #6, both working towards winning 4 state titles. Evans looks to have a clear path where Finlinson's path will be much more difficult. #7 is Hone and #8 is Kelly, who are both 5A and should meet up for a state title unless Layne Shepherd, Karson Rees or Isaac Richards can stop them who sits right outside the rankings.

At this weight we could potentially have 4 wrestlers working towards 4 state titles!!! From a fan's perspective I hope they all go this weight but most likely things will spread out and some will end up at 126 and even possibly up at 138.
