This past week the State Leaders from across the country met in Denver, Colorado to discuss upcoming changes with USA Wrestling. Each year this happens in the month of August. This year there were a few changes that will take place in the 2022-2023 year, they are listed below with details of each.

  1. Headgear is no longer required at USA Wrestling National and Regional events for any age
  2. For the 16U and Junior Nationals (Fargo) each state is limited to four wrestlers per age per style per weight class. Wrestlers who earn automatic qualifier status do not count against the limits. This counts for both males and females.
  3. For the 16U and Junior Nationals (Fargo) here are the events and placements that will serve as automatic qualifiers.
  • Current year 1st-6th Place at USA Wrestling Regionals (placement must be in the same age and style)
  • Current year 1st-8th Place at U15 Nationals (placement must be in the same style)
