Abel Hervias (6 years old) was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) on May 17, 2019.  A month prior to his diagnosis Able broke his Femur and a cyst was found in the bone.  After testing the diagnosis was confirmed.  Abel and his family are part of the Utah wrestling family and we are asking the wrestling community to support this families long journey of beating cancer.  

The good news for Abel and his family is that the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body and is isolated to the Femur. The tough news is that Abel may be in jeopardy of losing his leg.  The cancer has consumed about 80% of Abel's Femur. The treatment will include Chemotherapy and surgery on the leg. The final prognosis for the leg has not yet been determined. 

Abel is the son of Matt and Vanesa Hervias. His older siblings are RJ and Bella. Abel has a new baby brother Canelo (born about the same time Able broke his leg). The family is in for the fight of their life. Abel and his family will spend a significant amount of time at Primary Children's Hospital over the next year in his fight against cancer. 

The family has already incurred significant medical expenses and time off work has created a financial burden for the family. The family will need financial, spiritual and emotional support as the year goes on.  A donation account with Rock Canyon Bank to help the family in their fight has been set up. 100% of the money donated to the account will be used to benefit Abel and the Hervias family.
