Mahkyi Smith has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for the week of  February 6th, 2017.

Mahkyi Smith is a 6th grader from Lehi Utah. Mahkyi has been wrestling since he was seven years old. He loves football, wake surfing, wake boarding and snow boarding. He is a standout football player and like he wrestles he has always been aggressive which has been his personality since he was born. Mahkyi is very hard working and he maintains a 3.85 GPA. 

Mahkyi loves spending time with his brothers. They travel, play football, Madden and wrestle together year round. Mahkyi has two dogs that he loves Rya an English Mastiff and Tuck an English Bull Dog. Mahkyi went to the Virginia Holiday National Duals and finished 9-1 receiving All American honors. On his Duals this year he is 19-1 and is undefeated in Utah tournaments for his grade division. Mahkyi won the Utah Northern State Championship title, and then very impressivley pinned his way through the finals at the Youth Super State Tournament last Saturday. 

Mahkyi's favorite wrestler is Kyle Snyder, he looks up to his work ethic and commitment to perfecting his skills and achieving his goals. Mahkyi's goal in addition to winning Super State this year, is to  win Freestyle and Greco State for the Triple Crown. Mahkyi is excited to be named USA Utah wrestler of the week.
