Konner Kreitlow has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for the week of October 17th, 2016.

Konner began wrestling at the age 5 for Syracuse. When Konner first started wrestling he was intimidated by the other wrestlers. There were multiple times he would crying during a match or after a match when he was defeated, But he kept on going with the encouragement from his family and friends. Wrestling has always been his favorite sport and has taught him how to deal with his personal challenges in life.

The following summer of Konner first year, He was diagnosed with Glycogen storage disease is a condition caused by the inability to break down a complex sugar called glycogen. The forms of the condition can affect glycogen breakdown in liver cells or muscle cells or sometimes both. A lack of glycogen breakdown interferes with the normal function of the affected tissue and causes delayed development of motor skills, such as sitting, standing, or walking, and some have mild muscle weakness.  Every time Konner steps out on the mat, he is not only wrestling against his opponent, he is wrestling with condition. Konner was determined to not let his condition stop him from enjoying his favorite sport.

Konner is has been lucky to be coached by some of the best in the state,  and looks up to these men not only as coaches and/ or wrestlers, but as good men he wants to grow up to be like some day.
