Salem Hills is coming off a 6th place finish at the 4A State Championships this past year and look to have a strong team coming back with 5 returning state placers which is more than Uintah returns and equals what Maple Mountain returns. The difference is in the returning state qualifiers though as Salem only returns 9 compared to Uintah's 13 and Maple Mountain's 15. I don't see Salem cracking the top 5 in 4A but should be in strong contention for that 6th spot again. To jump into the top 5 and knock out one of the power 5 teams they will need a bunch of kids to step up. I would expect Ryan Larsen to get on the podium this year and Wood will be a tough freshman but will it be enough to crack the top 5? Larsen at 160 and Van Tassell at 170 are the leaders but Larsen will be in a dog fight at 160 as 4A looks very strong with Discher, Tomlinson, Van Tassell or Hellstrom and Manookin all possibly fighting to end on top.
