South Summit is the 2A defending state champs, they took over the reigns and dethroned powerhouse Delta. This year Delta will be chasing them so let’s take a look at what the defending 2A state champs look like going into next year.

Returning State Placers: 9

  • 106: Jayden Williams (4th)
  • 113: Edgar Ganderilla (6th)
  • 120: Jed Lee (4th)
  • 132: Logan Crandall (3rd)
  • 145: Kevin Mora (2nd)
  • 145: Kendall Dick (3rd)
  • 170: Broughton Flygare (1st)
  • 182: Alexander Johnson (3rd)
  • 285: Porter Fox (5th)

Returning State Qualifiers: 13

Impact Freshman & expected weight

  • Bo Bushell (132) – Youth Super State 4th
  • Nephi Antillon (220) – JH State 3rd

South Summit loses a lot of senior power in Matt Lee, Neuenschwander & Blazzard, all of which were state finalists. Besides those 3 they lose 4 other state placers so they will need their young crop of wrestlers to step up if they want to keep Delta and Millard behind them.  The younger Lee will need to step up and fill his brother’s shoes and state finalist Kevin Mora, and state champion Broughton Flygare will need to lead this team helping the younger kids step up and fill shoes left behind. Freshman, Bo Bushell should help but will he be enough to propel this team to a second state title?
