Austin Paris has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for February 25th, 2015.
Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high school and above age group which will include high school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.
Austin Paris is a 1st Grader at HMK Elementary in Moab UT. He is a very friendly person and has many friends. He is very outgoing and funny. He has never met a stranger; they’re just friends he hasn’t met yet. He will talk to anyone. He has a huge heart and genuinely cares about other kids.
Austin is competing in his 2nd full year of wrestling. He just competed in is first Super State Championship. To the surprise of everyone but him, he won. When Austin is asked what his goals in wrestling are he will tell you he wants to win multiple Super State Championships and once in high school he wants to be a four time State Champ for the Grand County Red Devils. Also one day he would like to wrestle for the University of Utah. When told they don’t have a wrestling Program he says” that’s ok they will someday. They are in the PAC 12.”
When he is not wrestling he is involved in many sports. He loves football, Baseball, and Soccer. He played 2nd base for his 8 and under All-Star baseball team. He also loves camping and fishing..
