Tanner Moon has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for January 21st, 2015.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

 Tanner Moon is A 15 year old 9th grader at Uintah Junior High in Vernal,Utah. He comes from a family of two children, him and a older sister. He is a student that strives to do his best, and enjoys school. Tanner is always looking to make friends, and is very caring person.

 Tanner has had a great year on the mat. He has had to work hard, at many tournaments he was the only 150-160lb wrestler, he didn't run away he stepped up and wrestled the next bracket up.  At one tournament he even stepped on the mat with the heavy weights, and placed first. He won the Equalizer award this year, and also was voted the Outstanding Wrestler at the KLIC take down cancer tournament. He has only lost three matches this year and one of them was in a higher weight bracket. Tanner loves all aspects of wrestling, and appreciates the time his coaches spend teaching him. His favorite move is probably the cradle.

 Outside the wrestling room Tanner has recently earned his Eagle Scout award. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and is looking forward to competing with Uintah High Schools mountain bike team this spring.  He is considering the Military after high school.
