Andrew Jensen has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for October 15th, 2014.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

Andrew is a well rounded kid. He enjoys learning and trying new
things. In addition to wrestling he is in his 3rd year of tackle
football where he plays Fullback and Middle Linebacker.  Andrew does really well in school and his Fourth grade teacher said that he is both the class clown and the teacher's pet, which is pretty hard to pull off.

He started wrestling with Champions Wrestling Club when he
was in first grade. It was a natural fit for him because he likes to rough
house and is a tough competitor. When he was in 2nd grade he started
wrestling Freestyle and took 1st in State, 1st at Western
Regionals, and 1st at Asics Kids Nationals. In 2013 he took 2nd
at Superstate, 1st in Freestyle, and was a Freestyle All American.
In 2014 He started wrestling Greco-Roman and won the state Triple Crown award. He also took 2nd at middle school state, won Outstanding Wrestler at
The Salt Lake Slam for the Intermediate group, and was a Freestyle All American.

Andrew's wrestling goals for 2015 are: To become more technically sound, to compete at a high level, to win, and to have fun.
