Asher Farr has been named wrestleutah.com "Athlete of the Week" for September 17th 2014.

Each week, wrestleutah.com will select two "Athletes of the Week." One for the PreK-9th grade age groups, and one for the high  school  and above  age group  which will include high  school , college, coaches and teams. The selection committee will consider and choose from nominees based upon performance within wrestling that week.

Asher Steve Farr was born September 25th, 2005 in St George UT where he still lives with his two sisters, and one brother.  Asher is "basically" 9 as he would say, and attends third grade at Santa Clara Elementary where he is a top student in his class and has earned several Cougar awards for citizenship.  Asher is also very helpful at home doing "man" jobs like mowing the lawn and taking out the garbage.  Asher always strives to do his best at whatever task is put before him.

Asher started wrestling when he was in kindergarten and quickly fell in love with the sport! It was surprising to his parents as he was a very shy kid, and did not like anything that drew attention to him.  We noticed very quickly that when he was on the mat it was only him and the one other kid that existed in the room and he was determined to win.  Asher has been able to to progress in his wrestling and physical abilities with the help of great coaches he has improved his ability every year and has had the opportunity to wrestle in tournaments such as Rocky Mountian National Classics(4th in 2013-14 season), Beehive Brawl(4th in 2013-14 season), and Utah Youth Super State(2nd in 2013-14) placing on the podium higher with each year.  However the most important aspect wrestling has taught Asher is not his physical ability but what he is capable of mentally and emotionally!!  It has taught him what hard work, determination, drive, and respect mean.  As his parent's we have seen him go from the quiet kid in the corner to a confident and determined kid who knows that if he works hard enough not just physically but applying himself mentally he can do anything.  He is ready to start the 2014-15 Season with his team and coaches at Southern Utah Elite Wrestling!

Outside of wrestling Asher enjoys other sports such as football and baseball. Asher loves riding his dirt bike with his dad, hunting, and riding horses.  He is always busy!!
