A: Wrestlers need to take specific precautions to protect skin:

Follow a healthy diet. The first line of defense is good health. Eating properly is essential to successful athletic performance but it is also an excellent way to defend against disease and infections.
Shower as soon as you are finished with workout and tournaments. The quicker the wrestler gets to the shower, the better. Shower before practice or before tournaments to avoid bringing anything to the mats.
Use clean towels. Do not re-use unwashed towels. Do NOT share towels.
Practice in clothing that has been washed and dried. Do not wear the same practice clothing twice before washing them.
Clean your shoe soles with appropriate cleaner. Clean your shoe soles before entering the wrestling room and before stepping on the mat for practices or for a matches. Water isn’t enough.
